Charges have now been laid in connection with a shooting in Lac La Hache

35-year old David Lee Russell is facing one count each of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm with intent to wound or disfigure in connection with a shooting incident.

Russell is due back in court on January 15th.

100 Mile House RCMP say they responded to a report of shots fired on the 37-hundred block off Highway 97 in Lac La Hache at 9:20 p.m. back on September 24th.

Upon arrival, police say they found an adult male who was associated with the residence suffering from a gunshot wound.

RCMP say they were told that the suspect had fled the scene in a newer black truck.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP said at the time that the incident was not believed to be random and that the persons involved were known to each other.
