A Lone Butte family lost their barn to a structure fire.
Regional Fire Chief for the Cariboo Regional District Roger Hollander said in the wee hours of the morning on Thursday November 14th, the Lone Butte Volunteer Fire Department responded to the incident.
“It was a barn that was located on that property and upon arrival they observed it to be full involved. Unfortunately the barn was a total loss, there were some hazards, propane and power lines down on the property that proposed challenges to the firefighters.”
Hollander said a mutual aid request to 100 Mile Fire Rescue was requested by the Lone Butte Volunteer Fire Department.
“Fortunately firefighters were able to contain the fire to that area. There was some grass that was catching and crews did a great job under difficult situations to deal with this fire so it wouldn’t spread to the house or other adjacent buildings.”
Hollander said there were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters and they were on scene for just over four hours.
