October Call Outs Low, Year To Date Higher For Williams Lake Fire Department

The number of call outs that the Williams Lake Fire Department responded to last month was down by 7 compared to the 40 they attended in September.

Assistant Fire Chief Cory Boyd said they definitely slowed down a little bit and went over the numbers for the month of October this year compared last year.

We ended up with 33 call outs in October. In comparison, last October in 2023, we had 45. We definitely have a reduced number to the previous two years.”

Even though the calls slowed down a bit, Boyd noted that the number of responses to date have increased.

Last year at the end of 2023 we ended up with 460 total call outs and this year we are still on pace for 522 which would break new records for the Williams Lake Fire Department.”

Boyd reminds the public as temperatures begin to fall this is the time of year to make sure that chimney’s have been cleaned and furnaces have been serviced.
