Local Business in Quesnel is celebrated

Parveen Pannu with City Furniture has been named Quesnel’s Business Person of the Year.

Parveen and many others were honoured on Saturday (Oct 28) night at the annual Business Excellence Awards at the Seniors’ Centre in Quesnel.

There were 23 people nominated for that award.

Willis Harper was named the Business of the Year for more than 10 employees, while A Game Contracting got the nod for Business of the Year under 10 employees.

That was out of 32 nominations.

Gold Pan Pottery won for Home Based Business.

53 Degree North Butcher Shop was named the New Business of the Year, while Cariboo Water claimed the Greatest Improvement Award.

Elizabeth Hunter won for Excellence in Tourism, Nourish Foodbank took home the Social Leadership Award, and Heloise & Ted Traer with Moose Meadows were recognized for Agriculture Excellence.

Tanya Garland with Sun and Sage Yoga won for Community Wellness Engagement.

And Tammy Burrows was recognized for Indigenous Social Leadership.
