All-Candidates Forum Set For Monday Night In The South Cariboo

Voters in the South Cariboo will have a chance to ask questions of the two candidates running in the Cariboo-Chilcotin riding.

On Monday night (October 7) an all-candidates forum with BC Conservative incumbent MLA Lorne Doerskson and BC NDP Michael Moses will be held at the Creekside Seniors Centre in 100 Mile House.

Volunteer coordinator Donna Barnett said each candidate will have 3 minutes to introduce themselves at the beginning. There will be 3 minutes at the end for them to say good night or whatever they wish to say and then there will be questions from the audience.

“There will be paper and pens there and someone to pick the questions up that will be in writing. We don’t want to have any inflammatory or discriminatory remarks made so they will be scrutinized.” Barnett said, “We have a great moderator and that will be the format for the evening.”

Barnett said they are looking to have a good audience and good questions and have some real good dialogue.

Doors will be open at 5:45 at the Creekside Seniors Centre with the forum to run from 6:30 until 9.

“I would like people to come out and listen and ask their questions and meet the candidates,” Barnett said, “lets have some good dialogue and learn a little bit more about policies and things that are on people’s minds.”

The all-candidates forum is organized by the South Cariboo Chamber of Commerce and sponsord by the BC Northern Real Estate Board.
