Accused bank robber scheduled to go to trial in Quesnel

A tentative trial date has been set for a man accused of robbing a bank in Quesnel.

42-year old Branvin McLeod is due back in Supreme Court on May 5th of next year.

McLeod is charged with robbery and with wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Quesnel RCMP were called to the CIBC bank in the 300 block of Reid Street just before 5 o’clock on February 1st of 2023.

Police say they were told that a lone male had entered the bank and produced a note demanding money and threatening staff.

The suspect is also accused of making a motion indicating that he had a weapon.

Police he fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

An arrest was made two days later.
