100 Mile District General Hospital sees temporary emergency department closure

Interior Health has advised 100 Mile House and area residents of the emergency department closure at 100 Mile District General Hospital.

They said the closure is due to limited physician availability.

Services will be unavailable from 7:00 tonight (August 31st) to 8:00 tomorrow morning (September 1st).

Patients can access care at Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake or Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre, which is typically another location 100 Mile House and area residents are differed to, is also unavailable until 8:00 tomorrow morning (September 1st) for the same reason.

Interior Health said anyone needing life-threatening emergency care should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
