Temporary service interruption at Cariboo Memorial Hospital emergency department for second straight night

Interior Health has once again announced a temporary service interruption at the Cariboo Memorial Hospital emergency department.

They said emergency services will be unavailable from 5:30pm tonight (July 5th) until 7:30 am tomorrow, due to limited nursing availability.

Patients are being asked to access care at either the 100 Mile District General Hospital, GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel, or the Bella Coola General Hospital.

All other inpatient services will continue as normal at Cariboo Memorial Hospital.

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.

The Cariboo Memorial Hospital emergency department also saw a temporary service interruption yesterday, July 4th.

More information about the service interruption can be found on Interior Health’s website here.
