Wildland Fire Quickly Extinguished By Williams Lake Fire Department

The Williams Lake Fire Department responded to a wild land fire late yesterday (Friday) afternoon.

Deputy Chief Brendan Foote said they were on scene along with BC WildFire Service and the RCMP in the Barlow Avenue and Country Club Boulevard area.

Foote said upon arrival they had a 300 foot by 100 foot wild land fire that crews were able to quickly extinguish.

The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

Foote noted this is a good reminder for the public that it is extremely dry out and that people need to be careful when working with anything flammable.
