Councillors call for provincial resolution for missing and murdered Aboriginal women

Quesnel City Council plan to take the issue of missing and murdered Aboriginal women to the North Central Local Government Association and eventually the Union of BC Municipalities, as British Columbia remains the only province in Canada that hasn’t passed a resolution on the issue.

City Councillor Laurey-Anne Roodenburg…

Roodenburg says it is obviously an important issue in our area with the “Highway of Tears.”

She will come up with a resolution to send to the North Central Local Government Association.

There have been more than 1,180 missing and murdered Aboriginal in Canada women since 1980.
