Stores continue to get shipments of groceries in Williams Lake which remains on an evacuation alert.
Save On Foods Store Manager, Paul Eckersley was busy Thursday morning putting milk on the shelves following the arrival of a large shipment.
“It’s 3-4 days late; they turned all our trucks around. Â We’ve fixed all that. This load came out, it took 18 hours to get here from yesterday so we’re way behind but a lot of milk today and we’ve got more coming for Saturday. We’re fully in stock in the store 100% and we’re ready to go.”
Eckersley says the trucks of shipments from Langley and all of Vancouver are coming up through Jasper down to Prince George and back down through the road blocks.
He says although staffing is a major issue, he’s got more people coming here to help out.
“In their shorts, whatever, they’re just trying to help out. This store has supported this community for so long, the community is definitely supporting the store right now. We’re here to keep it full.”
