A nearly $400,000 partnership between the Ministry of Social Development, Social Innovations Community, and The New Pathways to Gold Society has created a new Project that will bring new amenities to the Cariboo Regions Heritage and recreational sites as well as First Nations Communities.
Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett says there are many people that helped bring this project to fruition.
The project has also created jobs for 5 job seekers who will work until December 2016 as they gain skills in general construction, log building, road work, and trail building.
The $400,000 project will be broken into 4 phases which will include work on the Gold Rush Snowmobile Trail, The Canim Lake First Nation Area, The Bridge Lake Ice Caves, and many other recreation sites and trails in the Cariboo Region.
Amenities to be built over the course of the 36 week project include log picnic tables, trail construction, warming huts, a baseball dugout and information kiosks as well as much more.
